Up early and out the door, we made our way through the Historic District yet again, this time heading to the ballet - starting at 9:30 am!! We strolled through Sanborns, a very popular cafe and department store chain in Mexico. Not only was that particular Sanborns located in a beautiful historic building with an incredible array of pastries, cakes and goodies, but also sold many items found in a regular department store, sans clothing.
We stopped in at another incredibly historic building, the Palacio de Correos de Mexico (The Postal Palace). Originally built in the early 1900’s, the structure was heavily damaged by the 1985 earthquake. Beautifully restored, it still remains in use.
